Community Outreach
We at Bethel United Church of Christ support local community organizations and families in need. Currently, our focus into the community includes:

On the 3rd Wednesday of each month, folks from Bethel have offered to be Christ’s “hands and feet” by helping the Hanover Area Council of Churches fold clothes in their clothing bank. Please sign up to assist – a sheet is found in the Narthex. Your efforts benefit those who are needy and shop for “gently used” clothing for little cost. Time: 9 – 1 PM, or as long as you are able.

God's Meal Bread

• Continue to fill our shopping cart with donations that we give to Doris and God’s Meal Barrel as they provide supplies to the needy of the Hanover area! We have been supporting this ministry for many years and are so thankful that you have been so generous! Donations for April are for baby items (Food and cereals) and May the focus is on canned vegetables and fruits THANK YOU!!!!!

Neighbors in Need Offering:

This offering of the United Church of Christ supports the UCC ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States. 2/3 of the offering funds are for local and national advocacy efforts and direct service projects. 1/3 of the offering supports our American Indian Ministries. The 20 American Indian congregations and their churches are supported through these resources. Envelopes will be included in the Sept. 24th bulletin and the offering will be collected on Oct. 1st.

We are aware that sometime in the future we will have major expense with either the Heat Pumps or maybe a new roof. In order to prevent a major blow to our reserve funds, we are asking people to use the special Building Improvement Fund Envelopes to help build up funds we would have available to replace anything we may need for the church building! There are envelopes available in the pews as well as one for each month in the envelope boxes and can be given anytime.

Pop Top Can Tabs

• MARG LEPPO has been collecting Pop Top tabs for HOMEWOOD HOMES. She has contributed a couple of thousand of these so far and we are helping her with this project. So, ANY pop top tabs you may have, collect them and bring them to church. There is a plastic container on the table in the Sanctuary to collect the tabs for Marg. THANK YOU!!!!!
